BBFC Certificate: 15

'Sicario' is a crime thriller film which stars Emily Blunt, Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin and is directed by Denis Villeneuve.

'Sicario' features another well constructed film from Denis Villeneuve, his direction keeps the audience in a deep suspense during the most climatic of scenes. Roger Deakins cinematography is a beauty to behold, all the scenes in this film look naturally lit, even the scenes which take place during the dusk, I would not be to surprised if he was nominated an Oscar for his work. The performances in this film are excellent especially Benicio Del Toro and Emily Blunt who's acting and character reminded me of Jodie Foster in 'The Silence of the Lambs'. However, I felt like the story wasn't anything spectacular or groundbreaking and the pacing for me felt a bit off during the second act, however the talent involved behind the film push it beyond it's narrative trappings.

Rating: 8/10
