'All the Money in the World' is a crime thriller which stars Michelle Williams, Christopher Plummer and Mark Wahlberg. This film is directed by Ridley Scott.
Ridley Scott is back of form with this crime thriller, Scott is a director who doesn't seem to have the best eye for good scripts, fortunately this film has a great script and makes for one of Ridley Scott's best films of recent memory.
The performances in this film are brilliant, Michelle Williams is unrecognisable in her role. Christopher Plummer's performance is remarkable considering he only had a few days on set in the infamous rushed re-shoots. The film in whole is a miracle considering the problematic production. The cinematography is beautiful both in colour and in texture. The story in some ways reminded me of Speilberg's 'Bridge of Spies' with the noir visuals you expect from Scott.
My only issue with the film is that some of the scenes can feel heavy on the thematic elements in the story. Overall 'All the Money in the World' is film which not only meets the standers of the story, but exceeds them with a matured style that only film veterans can achieve.
